CALIFORNIA POPPY: A close relative of the traditional opium poppy California Poppy is a mild and safe relaxant that is not illegal or addictive Indigenous to California Most prominently, this amazing plant is a sedative extraordinaire, used in cases of anxiety, insomnia and nervous tension. Studies are currently underway that are examining the plant's wide array of activity from its ability to aid in nervous and behavioral disorders such as ADD and ADHD, to improvement of memory, concentration and intellectual capacity in the elderly. Sedative, analgesic, antispasmodic, antimicrobial, anxiolytic (anti-anxiety)

TURMERIC: anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-dyspepsia, anti-platelet effects, anti-viral effects; anti-fungal effects; anti-bacterial effects (inhibits Helicobacter Pylori)

Possible Uses: Alzheimers: breaks up and prevents Alzheimer's amyloid-beta oligomers and aggregates in laboratory studies. Arthritis: turmeric extract profoundly inhibited joint inflammation and periarticular joint destruction in a dose-dependent manner in animal (non-human) experiments. Cancer:may cause apoptosis (death) of various malignant cell types including skin, colon, forestomach, duodenum and ovary in laboratory studies. Diabetes: turmeric extract can reverse many of the inflammatory and metabolic derangements (insulin tolerance) associated with obesity and improves glycemic control in experiments of type 2 diabetes.

VALERIAN ROOT (NATURE'S ANTI ANXIETY): The chemical make-up of Valerian has a very calming effect on the nervous system. So for mental disorders involving the nerves, like panic attacks, tension, irritability, depression, hysteria, anxiety and excitability, Valerian root is a natural and herbal alternative to using drugs or medication. It is even used by patients using benzodiazepines (drugs for a calming effect) to switch to a less chemical and more natural medicine.

The problems of sleeplessness, restless nights, insomnia, in short, difficulty in getting a good night’s sleep can be tackled by having Valerian root. With conditions like Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), it has been used as a natural medicine to reduce symptoms. Valerian root helps the heart to be regular in its circulation and function. The beating heart’s rhythm and pace is made normal and those suffering from tachycardia can seek relief from irregular heart patterns by using this herb. Pain is effectively reduced or relieved with a dosage of Valerian root. The numbing effect on the brain can get rid of headaches and migraines. It relaxes the muscles, so muscle pain, arthritis and joint pains are relieved to an extent. It is even effective against menstrual cramps and pain in women. Other than IBS, gastric issues like intestinal colic, flatulence, bloating and stress-related digestion disorders are eased and their symptoms are reduced with Valerian root extract. The above medical benefits of Valerian root are highlighted and enhanced by one property of this herb – it is not addictive in nature.

PASSIONFLOWER: Has a natural calming and sedative effect. It has been found to increase the levels of GABA in the brain, helping your body relax. Passionflower is used to calm anxiety and insomnia. The flavonoids found in Passion flower are responsible for its anti-anxiety and relaxing effects. It has long been used for panic attacks, mild mood swings, nervous tension, hyperactivity, crying spells, irritability, restlessness, hysteria and epilepsy. Passion Flower tinctures are used for sleep problems (insomnia), ADD, ADHD, gastrointestinal (GI), related to anxiety or nervousness, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and for relieving symptoms related to withdrawal from narcotic drugs

Hops (Humulus lupulus): Used for anxiety, inability to sleep (insomnia) and other sleep disorders, restlessness, tension, excitability, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), nervousness, and irritability. It is also used to improve appetite, increase urine flow, start the flow of breast milk, as a bitter tonic, and for indigestion. Other uses include prostatecancer, breastcancer, ovarian cancer, high cholesterol, tuberculosis, bladder infections, intestinal cramps, an intestinal disorder called mucous colitis, nerve pain, and prolonged painful erection of the penis (priapism). Hops is sometimes applied to the skin for leg ulcers and as an antibacterial agent. LAVENDER: Antifungal, analgesic, antiseptic, antitumoral, anticonvulsant, vasodilating, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, vermifuge. Possible Uses: Insomnia, hair loss, burns, nervous tension, respiratory infections, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, menstrual problems/PMS, skin conditions, blood fat/cholesterol reduction, reducing excess sebum on skin.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Lemon Balm: Well known for its ability to induce sleep and calm the mind. Helps to calm the mind to go to sleep and also enhances the ablility to stay asleep for a restful sleep. Has the added benefit of better memory & focus during the day. It is also highly antioxidant so can help keep the immune system strong and is known for its age reducing properties as well.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Chamomile: Used to relieve insomnia and help to promote a healthy sleep cycle and overall wellbeing. One of the active compounds in the chamomile plant is apigenin; studies have found that this compound reduced locomotor activity. Flavonoids, mucilages and coumarins are also present in chamomile and may have a calming effect on the body, allowing for a more restful sleep.

Ingredients: California Poppy, Turmeric, Valerian Root, Passionflower, Hops, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Chamomile,Frankincense Resin,  infused into distilled water & grain alcohol.

SUGGESTED DIETARY USAGE: For sleep 1/4 teaspoon 1/2 hour before bed. May take another 1/4 teaspoon as needed to acheive desired effect.

In addition to sleep this tincture often works well for adhd, add, hyperactivity, difficulty focusing etc.
